Electro Acupuncture with the Beurer Electro Acupuncture TENS

In the traditional Chinese acupuncture involved insertion of thin needles into the skin over specific points on the body with the purpose of re-balancing the flow of vital energy along the body's energy pathways. Acupuncture therapy alters body's inner energy flow and realigns the body's electrical fields, helping to normalise cellular processes and organ functions, relieve pain and improve healing.

Modern electro acupuncture devices, such as the Beurer Electro Acupuncture TENS EA 34 generate mild electrical currents to stimulate acupuncture points for analgesia and pain relief, healing and restoration of health. Electro acupuncture is non-invasive, needle free, painless and non-traumatic.

Acupuncture stimulates release of endogenous biochemical compounds - endorphins, dynorphins and enkephalins - that have 'morphine like' efficacy in decreasing the sensation of pain. These compounds are released at different levels of human nervous system and act as natural endogenous painkillers that help us to better tolerate pain and experience a feeling of well-being. Endorphins are released in the brain, whilst dynorphins and enkephalins are released in the spinal cord.

In the acupuncture function, the Beurer Electro Acupuncture TENS device helps you locate the acupuncture points using a Search mode and after the point is located (i.e. you will hear an audible signal indicating that the point has been located), the pulses are delivered in the stimulation mode - you can choose 3 different programmes (i.e. Massage, Knead, Tap), each operating on 15 adjustable intensity levels. You can adjust the duration of the treatment time up to a maximum of 15 minutes. An illustrated guide to Acupuncture Points is provided with the device for your convenience.

TENS Therapy with the Beurer Electro Acupuncture TENS

Beurer Electro Acupuncture TENS EA 34 delivers TENS therapy, when switched into its TENS function. You can apply TENS with the Beurer EA 34 by using 2 self adhesive skin electrodes attached to the control unit through a lead wire.

TENS (Transcutaneous Electrical Nerve Stimulation) has been designed to stimulate sensory nerve endings in order to decrease perception of pain. Electrical stimulus blocks pain signals passing along the nerves to the central nervous system as well as spearheads electrical inhibition process, which inhibits peripheral and autonomous nerves. TENS stimulus also stimulates production of endorphins - naturally produced chemical substances that change sensory perception.

TENS does not cure physiological conditions. TENS merely helps to control the perception of pain by stimulating sensory nerve endings, which blocks pain signals and by stimulating endorphin production for more normalised sympathetic function. Stimulation of the nerve fibres with mild electrical impulses can modify pre-existing sensations and change our perception of discomfort and pain.
In the TENS function, the Beurer Electro Acupuncture TENS device commences stimulation, provided that the device is switched on and the skin electrodes are correctly attached to the skin. You can choose from 3 types of stimulation: tap stimulation, massage stimulation, kneading stimulation, each operating on 15 adjustable intensity levels. You can adjust the duration of the treatment time up to a maximum of 15 minutes.
