TENS stands for Transcutaneous Electrical Nerve Stimulation. TENS have been used for many decades to help ease off the pain of many chronic and acute pain conditions, such as back pain, shoulder pain, arthritis, sciatica, sports injuries, migraine, period pain and even post operative pain. Mild electrical impulses enter the nerve fibres via self adhesive skin electrodes attached to the skin surface. TENS impulses block the peripheral pain signal from reaching the pain centre in the brain. Additionally, TENS impulses stimulate a production of body's own pain killing chemicals known as 'endorphins'.

Using Flexi TENS

Flexi TENS is simple and easy to use.

Flexi TENS has 4 TENS modes. Each mode is pre- set to provide a different sensation. Intensity of signal is adjustable.

Flexi TENS treatment modes:

1. Mode A - Tapping: pulse frequency 45 Hz / pulse width 208 µS
2. Mode B - Massage: frequency 55 Hz / pulse width 100 µS
3. Mode C - Tapping Massage: frequency 44 Hz / pulse width 208 µS
4. Mode D - Extended Burst: frequency 90 Hz / pulse width 100 µS

Place the self adhesive skin electrodes on the area you wish to treat, ensuring that the electrodes are placed over or close to the painful area. You will find suggested places for skin electrodes placements in the user manual enclosed with the Flexi TENS. Select your preferable treatment mode and adjust the intensity of the signal to comfortable level of sensation.

Flexi TENS contraindications:

Do not use Flexi TENS is you have a cardiac pace maker. Check with your doctor prior to using Flexi TENS, if you suffer from a heart condition, epilepsy, undiagnosed pain or have any metal implants. Do not place electrodes on or near eyes, in the mouth, over the front of sides of the neck, across the head, heart or broken, inflamed, infected or numb skin. Do not use in the presence of tuberculosis, malignant tumours, high fever, very high or very low blood pressure or acute inflammatory disease. Do not use Flexi TENS while driving or operating machinery. ALWAYS read the user manual prior to first use and retain the manual for further reference. ALWAYS consult your doctor if you have any doubts about using Flexi TENS.
