NeuroTrac ETS EMG BioFeedback

NeuroTrac ETS Electromyography (EMG) Triggered Stimulation

NeuroTrac ETS is a Dual Channel EMG - Biofeedback Based Neuromuscular Stimulator for assessment and retraining of pelvic floor muscles and other muscle groups.

Neurotrac ETS measures and trains pelvic floor muscles, whilst Neurotrac Continence and Neurotrac Pelvitone are pelvic floor stimulators dedicated to retraining of the pelvic floor.

Electromyography (EMG) is a test that detects electrical activities within muscles. Electromyography such as performed with Neurotrac ETS  or Neurotrac Myo Plus allows the measurement of muscular responses that are triggered by stimulation of specific nerves. When the measurements are displayed, either visually or audibly, measured variables can be assessed and evaluated.

This type of muscular assessment process is called the "biofeedbackNeurotrac ETS EMG.".

Electromyography (EMG) provides biofeedback that is based on the relationship between the tension and the relaxation of a muscle or muscles. Electrodes are placed over the chosen muscle or muscle group. Detected electrical signals are proportionate to the actual activities of the stimulated muscle and reflect actual strengths and weaknesses of the muscle. Electrical measurements are expressed in microvolts. Interpretation of the microvolt measurements forms the basis of the diagnosis. Correct diagnosis enables implementation of appropriate "needs based" neuromuscular stimulation treatments to re-educate and rehabilitate the muscles optimally and in the best possible way.

Neurotrac ETS EMG with measurements graphs.EMG Biofeedback has another benefit that is of paramount importance to the patients. EMG Biofeedback allows the patients to verify and visualise their own situation and facilitate their own progress. Biofeedback provides awareness that motivates patients to comply with treatment for optimum progress.

EMG Biofeedback therapy is regularly and successfully used by health professionals throughout the world in evaluation and treatment of a growing number of conditions, such as incontinence, patellofemoral pain syndrome, myofascitis, myofacial pain, phantom limb pain, neck and shoulder girdle pain and repetitive strain injury.

EMG triggered Stimulation (ETS) allows patients to trigger neuromuscular stimulation that is appropriate to their actual muscle status.

NeuroTrac ETS continually monitors progress made. NeuroTrac ETS detects changes in the muscle strength and automatically increases the EMG threshold for stepwise progression. This ensures that the rehabilitated muscle works at appropriate pace and prevents damaging the muscle through over-exertion.

Neuromuscular Stimulation administered by Neurotrac ETS is used for the following purposes:

  • Increase muscle strength
  • Promote continence
  • Maintain or improve range of movements
  • Increase and improve blood supply to the muscle
  • Warm up prior to exercising
  • Alleviate muscle spasm
  • Change muscle tone
  • Prevent disuse atrophy
  • Pain relief

Neuromuscular Stimulation is a low volt stimulation of motor nerves. The electric impulses cause muscles to contract. Repeated contraction and relaxation of muscles strengthens the muscle fibres and has been found effective in a treatment of many vascular conditions and musculoskeletal disorders, such as those listed above.

NeuroTrac ETS is often used for rehabilitation of people after stroke and most commonly to help people with compromised pelvic floor muscles.

About Neurotrac Software

Neurotrac Software helps to get the best performance from Neurotrac ETS, Neurotrac Simplex and Neurotrac MYO PLUS.

Neurotrac Software offers 5 main modes of operation:

  1. Open Display used for general EMG readings without a set time limit.
  2. Template Training that allows therapists to create a template line for the patient to follow by increasing the patient's control of a particular muscle.
  3. Work / Rest Assessment that monitors the progress of the patient and creates work / rest statistics to aid the therapist to evaluate and diagnose muscular problems.
  4. Work / Rest Training for training of muscles over a number of work / rest trials.
  5. Patient Progress Reports can be created from work / rest assessments to produce comprehensive graphs and statistical reports. Up tp 10 assessments can be viewed in a graph form on one page, allowing the therapist to visually compare each assessment to see the progress achieved by individual patients.

Full EMG statistics are provided at the end of the session. Quality of life information is also shown.

Patient data base stores comprehensive personal and session information for each patient. Details of over 32 000 (thirty two thousand) patients can be stored. The reports can even be used to form comprehensive insurance reports if a clinic needs to prove to insurers that their patient is benefiting from the treatment.

MINIMUM COMPUTER REQUIREMENTS are as follows:

Pentium 233Mhz CPU - 64 Megabytes memory - 10 Megabytes of hard disk drive space - SVGA Screen with 800 x 500 resolution - Suitable for Windows 95, 98, 2000 and XP - Multilingual database system (English, French, German, Italian, Finnish, Swedish and Chinese language support) - Easy to use and user friendly.

*NeuroTrac ETS and Neurotrac software can be purchased without VAT for personal use  by people suffering relevant chronic problem. VAT exemption certificate must be completed and submitted at the time of purchase in our online shop.
