About Rio ProLift and Faradic Facial Toning

Used for over 40 years in beauty salons, faradic facial toning utilises EMS (electric muscle stimulation) to activate the nerves, which control the facial muscles. Electric pulses repeatedly contract and relax the facial muscles, toning, lifting, firming and tightening them. The electric pulses generated during EMS (electro muscular stimulation) mimic natural nerve signals that spearhead muscular contractions and relaxations.

Electrically generated muscle exercise is passive and entirely effortless. In addition to firming, toning and tightening the muscles, EMS also improves facial blood circulation, bringing more oxygen and nutrients to cells, whilst encouraging removal of toxins and waste materials, leaving the skin refreshed and rejuvenated.

ProLift Facial Toner firms, tightens and conditions the following muscles:

Orbicularis Oculi - which closes the eye, blinks and winks.
Zygomaticus Minor, Zygomaticus Major, Levator Labii Superior - which work together to control the upper lip and perform an important role in expressions, such as smiling and sneering.
Nasalis - which twitch the nose and flare nostrils.

How does the Rio ProLift work

Effective EMS facial toning and firming is based on regular application of light and gentle electric stimuli to exercise facial muscles.

When using the Rio ProLift you will feel a mild tingling sensation and as you increase the intensity, you will observe muscle contractions. The muscle contractions are smooth and each will start with with a slow rise, then hold in a contracted position for a few seconds and subsequently, gentle relaxation.

You should commence with at a low intensity level until you get used to the sensation of the treatment. Thereafter you can gradually increase the intensity to your most comfortable level.

For best results, you should use the Rio ProLift for a maximum of 20 minutes in total per session. Regular sessions are essential for lasting outcomes.

Rio ProLift Facial Lifting Treatment Modes

Rio ProLift Facial Toner features 6 different treatment modes. These are as follows:

Mode A: Tap toning - quick tapping pulses are applied to the facial muscles.
Mode B: Firming - rhythmic pulses with short intervals between each pulse cause short rhythmic facial muscle contractions.
Mode C: Enhancement - long pulses of 3 seconds with 2 seconds resting between pulses cause long facial muscle contractions.
Mode D: Enhancement & toning - this mode is a combination of modes B & C.
Mode E: Toning, firming & enhancement - this mode integrates 3 different modes - A, B & C for complex reconditioning effects on facial muscles.
Mode F: Deep toning - in this mode, facial muscles are toned with continuous pulses for deep toning contractions.

Using the Rio ProLift Facial Toner

Rio ProLift is simple to use and you will soon become proficient in performing and enjoying your regular treatments. Ensure that you read and follow user manual prior to first use. Retain the user manual for future reference.

The ProLift is battery powered and you must fit the batteries (CR2032 supplied) to both the left and right headset control before using the device. You will also note that the ProLift has a remote control for your convenience during treatment. The remote control is supplied with fitted battery (CR2025) ready for use.

Ensure that your facial skin is clean and dry.

Tie any loose hair back from your face.

Place the gel pads into both left and right handset controls and press them firmly into place.

Remove the protective plastic pads from the gel pads and store them carefully for use after the treatment.

Activate both left and right handset control and select your preferred Mode. Ensure that you select the same Mode on both left and right headsets controls.

Switch the remote control unit on. For your convenience, you will use the remote control to change the Mode and the intensity of the pulses.

Position the headsets on the sides of your face between cheek bone and jaw line.

Increase the intensity level by using the remote control. There are 10 levels of intensity. You should feel a slight tingling sensation, but you should aim to select a comfortable level of intensity.

If necessary, adjust the position of the headset on your face slightly to find the best contact position.

Sit back, relax and enjoy your treatment.

It is recommended that you use the Rio ProLift for a maximum of 20 minutes in total per session. Regular sessions are essential for better outcomes.

To turn off, press the OFF/DOWN button on the remote control.

Store your Rio ProLift in its box in a safe place. Prior to long periods of non use, remove batteries from the headset controls as well as from the remote control to conserve batteries.

Rio ProLift is not for use by people who have a pacemaker fitted, suffer from high or low blood pressure, epilepsy, heart problems, diabetes, multiple sclerosis, skin related illnesses.
Do not use the ProLift during pregnancy.
Do not use, when under influence of alcohol.
Do not use during after surgery recovery.
Do not use on skin areas affected by skin disorders, such as rosacea, pustular acne, abraded or lacerated skin, sensitive skin and over scars, varicose veins or moles.
Do not use if suffering with benign or malignant tumours, haemorrhages, inflammations of the skin, open and fresh wounds, bruises or broken skin.
Do not place skin pads over any conductive body jewellery.
Discontinue using if experiencing discomfort.
Not for use on children under the age of 14.
