About TENS Therapy & SaneoTENS

TENS (Transcutaneous Electrical Nerve Stimulation) has been designed to stimulate sensory nerve endings in order to decrease perception of pain. Electrical stimuli block pain signals passing along the nerves to the central nervous system as well as spearhead electrical inhibition process, which leads to inhibition of peripheral and autonomous nerves. TENS stimulus also stimulates production of endorphins - naturally produced chemical substances that change sensory perception.
TENS therapy is delivered by devices called TENS machines. SaneoTENS is an example of a quality modern digital TENS machine for home use. SaneoTENS relieves all types of acute & chronic pain effectively and rapidly. 
TENS does not cure physiological conditions. TENS merely helps to control the perception of pain by stimulating sensory nerve endings, which blocks pain signals and by stimulating endorphin production for more normalised sympathetic function. Stimulation of the nerve fibres with mild electrical impulses can modify pre-existing sensations and change our perception of discomfort and pain. TENS stimulation is characterised by biphasic current and user selectable pulse width and pulse rate.

TENS therapy is proven and in use for over 40 years. TENS therapy is associated with high rates of success in the management of acute and chronic painful conditions.

TENS function is often incorporated into electro muscular stimulators (EMS) designed to tone, rehabilitate, regenerate and build up muscle fibres after injuries, after stroke or during physical training. About SaneoTENS

SaneoTENS is a digital TENS for home use. It is an easy to use dual channel TENS machine with 16 pre-set programmes of 30 minutes duration each and 3 programmes for personalized self configuration to desired parameters.

SaneoTENS features 2 frequency ranges in the treatment programmes:

• TENS therapy @ 1 Hz - 20 Hz for chronic pain. TENS programmes operating on 1 Hz - 20 Hz frequencies are most effective in stimulating the release of body's own endogenous pain relieving substances (i.e. endorphins, dynorphins).

• TENS therapy @ 50 Hz - 100 Hz for acute pain. TENS programmes operating on 50 Hz - 100 Hz frequencies are most effective in blocking or inhibiting pain signals travelling to the brain.

Programmes 1 - 5 of SaneoTENS are for general pain relief and can be used to treat all types of acute and chronic pain. Programmes 6 - 16 have been pre-set for special complains, such as muscle tension, spinal pain, phantom pain, joint pain and period pain. Further 3 programmes (U1, U2 & U3) have been programmed with different fixed parameters and can be further self configured to address personal needs by selection of specific frequencies and/or treatment duration.
For the best SaneoTENS treatment outcomes, place the electrodes correctly on or around the pain area and adjust the intensity of stimulation to appropriate level, ensuring that you feel the current, but the treatment is not unpleasant or painful. 

Place the self adhesive electrodes on the clean and dry skin. Suggested electrodes placements for different types of pain can be found in the user manual.  
SaneoTENS machine switches off automatically when the treatment time has been completed. However, you can also stop the treatment at any time by using the On/Off button.
