How does permanent hair removal with Tria Laser work?

Tria laser removes hairs by emitting pulsed light that is absorbed by the pigment melanin in the hair shafts buried beneath the skin surface. This damages the hair follicles and temporarily delays hair growth. Although it may appear that after the hair removal treatment with the Tria laser the hair continues to grow, in reality the hair inside each treated follicle is slowly ejected from its follicular bed in the skin. Normally it takes 2 – 3 weeks for hairs to be ejected from the damaged follicles. Each subsequent hair removal session with Tria laser leads to lesser hair re-growth and at the same time, the hair that re-grows is progressively lighter and finer. 

Using Tria Laser for hair removal:

Tria Laser is easy to use. It resembles a hair dryer in its appearance and it is rechargeable with 3 intensity settings. During treatment session, you simply hold the device with its head tip housing 3 contact sensors in full contact with your skin. Attaining full contact with the skin is essential to the effectiveness of the hair removal process. Tria confirms it by beeping. Thereafter, it emits a pulsed wave of infrared light into your skin causing you to feel short and sharp heat sensation. When the energy transmission is completed successfully, Tria beeps again to let you know that it is appropriate to move the laser head tip to a different position. The energy emitted by the laser heats up the hair follicle, destroys it or makes it weaker and eventually, over a period of time, stops the hair re-growth completely. 

For best results, Tria laser should be used regularly. You can use it on the same area of the body every 2 – 4 weeks (i.e. every 3 weeks on average).       

Precautions and contraindications to using the Tria Laser Hair Removal System in permanent hair removal:

• Do not use Tria Laser around eyes, eyelids, eyelashes, bony orbit of the eye, forehead, temples, cheekbones, nostrils or between the eyes or eyebrows.
• Do not use on darker skin tones (medium brown, dark brown or black skin). Darker skin tones absorb too much laser light, which can cause serious skin injury including blisters, burns, scars, and skin colour changes. This includes lighter skinned individuals who have recently tanned or used a self-tanner on their skin.
• Do not use Tria laser, if you are of African, East Indian, Native American, or Pacific Island descent. Dark skin types absorb too much laser light, which can cause serious skin injury.
• Do not use, if you rarely or never sunburn after prolonged sun exposure. These skin types absorb too much laser light, which can cause serious skin injury.
• Do not use, if you have an active skin disease, sunburn, peeling skin, open sores, a skin rash, active lesions from psoriasis or other skin diseases, a prior history of skin cancer, or are taking medications that may cause your skin to be sensitive to light.
• Tria laser does not work on naturally white, grey, blond or red facial or body hair. These hair colours are too light for TRIA to be effective.
