How does VISS IPL Skin Rejuvenation Treatment work?
VISS IPL Skin Rejuvenation treatment works by directing controlled pulses of light into the upper skin layer. The light is absorbed by two of the body's own natural chemicals:
1. melanin present in the pigmented skin areas
2. haemoglobin in the red blood
Melanin and haemoglobin convert the absorbed light energy into heat. This heat is utilised to destroy the parts of the cells, which store the melanin and to cause a gentle damage to the walls of the vessels supplying blood to the areas, where vascular damage already exists. The body is then prompted to absorb and repair this minimal damage by cellular renewal and natural regeneration.
This type of skin rejuvenation technique is called Selective Photothermolysis.
VISS IPL Skin Rejuvenation treatment is based on the principles of selective photothermolysis. This means that the visible light produced by the VISS IPL System is carefully controlled to produce the correct pulse length and right amount of energy to target areas of existing skin damage without damaging surrounding healthy tissues.
Using VISS IPL for Skin Rejuvenation
For many people, using VISS IPL may be their first experience with a light-based device designed for self-treatment.
Before using the VISS IPL device read the entire user manual very carefully.
Ensure that you have fitted Skin Rejuvenation Lamp Cartridge in place of the hair removal lamp cartridge.
Carry out a skin test as described in your user manual. This will enable you to establish the intensity level and to experience the sensation of the IPL treatment. You will also learn how your skin will react to the IPL treatment.
To prepare for treatment, you must apply the VISS IPL Pre-treatment Conductive Gel. This gel prepares the skin for the IPL treatment and enhances skin rejuvenation outcomes.
IPL Skin Rejuvenation treatment 'step by step' guidance
- Clean and clear the treatment area, removing all traces and residues of cosmetic products and makeup.
- Apply the VISS IPL Pre-treatment Conductive Gel on the areas to be treated.
- Put on the Safety Glasses.
- Using VISS IPL is effortlessly easy - simply turn the IPL device on, adjust the light intensity to the level that is suitable and appropriate for your skin.
- Place the applicator wand on the skin.

- Each flash treats a skin area of 6 cm square (3cm x 2cm).
- During the flash, you will feel a warm sensation and gentle tingling. When treating more sensitive skin areas, this sensation may be similar to a warm rubber band being snapped against the skin.

- Depending on the number of skin problems you are treating and their severity, a series of 8 to 12 weekly treatment sessions are recommended.
- You will begin to notice visible results within 1 month of regular weekly treatments. Further progressive improvements will be seen in 2 months and the final results will be apparent after completing 3 months of regular treatments.
