Beurer BM 54 is a battery powered compact and reliable blood pressure monitor for home use.  Beurer BM 54 measures arterial systolic and diastolic blood pressure and pulse values in adults on the upper arm. The BM 54 cuff is suitable for an upper arm circumference of 22 – 44 cm. The measurements are taken automatically during cuff inflation for quick and comfortable experience. The blood pressure and pulse measurements as well as average values from previous measurements can be viewed on an extra-large easy to read display. Recorded measurements are classified and evaluated graphically on a traffic light colour-coded risk indicator according to WHO standards for easy interpretation and at a glance understanding. A symbol warning of a possible existing cardiac arrhythmia is also displayed, alerting you to any signs of irregularity in your heartbeats.      

Equipped with Bluetooth that facilitates wireless networking with your smartphone for wireless data transfer to a free app ‘beurer HealthManager Pro’ app for storage and long term monitoring of your blood pressure. However, it is worthwhile noting that the Beurer BM 54 is usable with and without the ‘beurer HealthManager Pro’ app as the measurements can be retrieved directly from the monitor.      

Beurer BM 54 Blood Pressure Monitor is conveniently battery powered and uses 4 x 1.5 V AAA batteries, which last for circa 200 measurements, depending on the blood pressure measured, inflation pressure and a number of Bluetooth connections.

Using Beurer BM 54 BP Monitor and the ‘beurer HealthManager’ app

Beurer BM 54 is easy to use. Simple to understand but comprehensive multilingual user manual guides you through the process step by step. Prior to the first use, read the instructions, recommendations and safety notes thoroughly. Make sure you follow the guidance that the user manual provides.

Smartphone system requirements for the ‘beurer HealthManager’ app: iOS ≥ 10.0 / Android ≥ 5.0 / Bluetooth ≥ 4.0

1. Ensure that the batteries are inserted into your Beurer BM 54 Blood Pressure Monitor.   
2. Download the free ‘beurer HealthManager’ app from the App Store for the iOS or the Google Play for Androids.
3. Activate the Bluetooth on your smartphone settings.
4. Start the app and follow instructions.
5. In the app, select the BM 54.
6. Activate Bluetooth in the BM 54 monitor – follow Bluetooth instructions on page 27 (left top of the page) in User Manual (English section).
7. Measure your blood pressure. With Bluetooth activated, the measurements data is always automatically transferred to the app as soon as the blood pressure measurement has been taken.

1. Activated Bluetooth can be recognised on the monitor display as a flashing symbol.

Key safety notes on the safe and correct use of a blood pressure monitor

• To ensure comparative values, always measure your BP at the same time each day.
• Do not measure your BP within 30 minutes of eating, drinking, smoking or exercising,  
• Prior to measurements rest for circa 5 minutes.
• When retaking measurements, wait at least 1 minutes between individual measurements.
• Measurements taken on BP monitor for home use at home are for your information only and they are not a substitute for medical examination or consultation with a medical practitioner. You must discuss your BP measurements with your doctor and you must never base any medical decisions on measurements taken at home.
• This BP monitor is not for use on newborns or on persons with preeclampsia.
• Consider that cardiovascular diseases may lead to incorrect measurements or measurements inaccuracy. The same is applicable to very low blood pressure, diabetes, circulatory disorders, arrhythmias, chills and shaking.   
• This device is not for use by persons with limited or restricted physical, sensory or mental skills, lack of knowledge or experience, unless supervised by a person responsible for their safety or are instructed by a responsible person on the use of the device.
