Using Beurer BM 93 BP Monitor with ECG Function and the ‘beurer HealthManager’ app

Beurer BM 93 is easy to use. Comprehensive and simple to understand user manual guides you through the process in simple steps. Prior to the first use, read the instructions, recommendations and safety notes thoroughly. Make sure you follow the guidance that the user manual provides. Retain user manual for future reference. 

  1. Ensure that the batteries have been inserted into your Beurer BM 93 Blood Pressure Monitor.    
  2. Download the free ‘beurer HealthManager’ app from the App Store for the iOS or the Google Play for Androids.
  3. Activate the Bluetooth on your smartphone settings.
  4. Start the app and follow instructions.
  5. In the app, select the BM 93. 
  6. Measure your blood pressure or take your ECG recording.
  7. Blood pressure measurement data or ECG recordings data are always automatically transferred from the blood pressure monitor via Bluetooth to the app as soon as the blood pressure measurement or ECG recording has been accomplished. Bluetooth in the Beurer BM 93 is active, when the blood pressure monitor is turned on.

Notes, including safety notes, on use of blood pressure monitor

  • To ensure comparative values, always measure your BP at the same time each day.
  • Do not measure your BP within 30 minutes of eating, drinking, smoking or exercising,   
  • Prior to measurements rest for circa 5 minutes.
  • When retaking measurements, wait at least 1 minutes between individual measurements.
  • Measurements taken on BP monitor for home use at home are for your information only and they are not a substitute for medical examination or consultation with a medical practitioner. You must discuss your BP measurements with your doctor and you must never base any medical decisions on measurements taken at home.
  • This BP monitor is not for use on newborns or on persons with preeclampsia.
  • Consider that cardiovascular diseases may lead to incorrect measurements or measurements inaccuracy. The same is applicable to very low blood pressure, diabetes, circulatory disorders, arrhythmias, chills and shaking.    
  • This device is not for use by persons with limited or restricted physical, sensory or mental skills, lack of knowledge or experience, unless supervised by a person responsible for their safety or are instructed by a responsible person on the use of the device.
  • Unsupervised children must not use this device or play with it!         
  • Do not use this device in conjunction with a high-frequency surgical device.

  • Do not use the BP monitor for purposes other rather than intended (i.e. measurements of blood pressure at home for non-diagnostic purposes).     

General notes on using the ECG

  • ECG measuring device is a single-channel electrocardiogram device for rapid recording of ECG. It provides a clear evaluation of the recording, particularly in regards of any disruptions of the heart rhythm.
  • ECG measuring device displays changes in the heart rhythm.  Always consult a medical professional, if you believe that you may have an illness or a disease.
  • ECG measuring device shows the heart’s function at the time of the measurement. As such, any changes occurring before or after a measurement is taken      may not be detected.
  • ECG measurements, such as those taken by this device cannot identify all heart diseases. Consult your doctor immediately if you experience symptoms that could indicate acute heart disease. Such symptoms could include, but are not limited to the following: pain or pressure on the left of the chest area or abdomen, radiating pain in the area of the mouth/ jaw/ face or in the shoulders, arms or hands, back pain, nausea, burning sensation on the chest, tendency to collapse, breathlessness, rapid heartbeat, irregular heart rhythm, or a combination of above symptoms.
  • Always consult a doctor immediately if you experience any symptoms. If you have any doubts, seek an emergency medical examination.
  • Do not self-diagnose or self-medicate on the basis of measurements without consulting a doctor. DO not start any new medication or change the type or dosage of existing medication without prior medical approval.
  • ECG medical device is not a substitute for a medical examination of your heart function or for medical electrocardiogram recordings, which require more complex measurements.
  • It is not possible to use the ECG measuring device to diagnose illnesses or diseases that may be causing an ECG change, as only a qualified medical doctor can make a diagnosis.      
  • It is recommended that you record the ECG curves and share them with your doctor, when required.
